Apparently there’s\u00a0a difference between an Infant and a Toddler, and the line is drawn at 18 months old.\u00a0 Honestly, I had no idea what the difference is… they’re all babies aren’t they?\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0Well e turned 18 months a few days ago, and I think I understand the difference.\u00a0 With an Infant, you pretty much carry them around, watch them crawl, waddle, take some steps, etc.\u00a0 They observe things and interact with a lot of curiosity.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Lately we’ve been adding new phrases to our vocabulary:<\/p>\n
\u00a0“Put that down!”\u00a0\u00a0“Don’t poke yourself with the fork”\u00a0 “Stop chasing the cats!”\u00a0 “Why are you squishing your food”\u00a0 “Hey, where are you going?\u00a0 Come back here!”\u00a0“Who turned off the computer?!” “Don’t open the cupboard and put the Tabasco sauce back!”<\/p>\n
Yeah I think we\u00a0know the\u00a0difference now.\u00a0 It’s like with her new found mobility, she’s continuously scanning the counter and table tops for\u00a0interesting things to grab and experiment with.\u00a0 She loves to grab a pen,\u00a0spoon, anything that extends her reach… and uses it to\u00a0poke, tap, drum, or fetch things.\u00a0 Now she’s able to act on her curiousity, whereas when she was an Infant, she was pretty curious, but more passively so.\u00a0 It’s interesting to watch her develop\u00a0at this stage, but it also\u00a0means parenting has taken on a very\u00a0active aspect!<\/p>\n
